Join us for Kind Queers and Friends, a sensory-soft Pride gathering that celebrates community, creativity, and kindness. This is a Pride event designed for LGBTQIA+ folks and allies of all ages to come together in a relaxed, inclusive, and joyfully welcoming environment.

Set amongst the lush greenery of Plant Playground, the day will be filled with opportunities to connect, express yourself, and explore. Whether you come for the open mic, the crafts, the workshops, or simply to exist gently among kind community, this is a space for you.

🕰 EVENT SCHEDULE

11:00am – Doors Open
Ease into the day in your own time. Settle in, explore the space, and find your people in a calm and friendly atmosphere.

11:30am – Mushroom Adaptogens Tasting & Demonstration
Explore the benefits of functional mushrooms and try them alongside local kombucha on tap in a wellness tasting that is light and enjoyable 💚

12:00pm – 2:00pm – Food Truck Service
Fuel up with delicious bites from our food truck partners, serving fresh and flavourful meals perfect for a relaxed picnic.

1:00pm – 2:00pm – Open Mic
🎤 Sign-ups are open now! Step up and share your songs, poetry, stories, or performances—or just come to cheer on your friends in a warm, judgment-free space. This is a highlight of the day and a chance to shine your light with community support.

Take a book, leave a book, share a story. Our community swap library encourages connection through literature, highlighting works by LGBTQIA+ authors. It’s a cozy corner to browse, chat, and find your next favourite read.

🎨 Cosy Craft ‘Tummy Time’
Bring your own craft project or dive into the materials provided and get creative at your own pace. This gentle, low-pressure space is perfect for embroidery, knitting, drawing—or simply being surrounded by crafty energy.

🍞 Sourdough Demonstrations
Led by local expert J, these sessions will guide you through the art of making sourdough bread. Learn how to mix, shape, and nurture your own loaf, and take home a piece of starter to continue your bread journey.

🌸 Perfume Workshops with Ousou
Awaken your senses and explore the power of scent in these hands-on workshops. Discover the fragrances that help you feel grounded, powerful, or playful, and create blends that speak to your unique energy.

 

💅 Harlequin Hands
Let your personality shine right to your fingertips in this anxiety- and judgment-free nail art space. Express yourself with bold colours, gentle pastels, or intricate designs—whatever makes you feel most you.

Pride can be dazzling and loud—but it can also be soft, slow, and deeply nourishing. Kind Queers and Friends is about creating a space where everyone can feel safe, seen, and celebrated.
