Step into a haze of words, rhythm, and imagination at Head in the Sky - an evening of poetry devoted to escapism. Hosted by Suraj, this is a chance to slip free of the ordinary and journey elsewhere midweek. Featuring a constellation of local voices, each poet carries their own fire, rising together into the same vast sky. There’ll also be a chance to share your own voice during the open mic at the end!

Suraj is a familiar and beloved face at AfterDark – one of our resident DJs and ever-smiling community members. Beyond the decks, he’s deeply involved in art and music projects across Perth, bringing creativity and warmth wherever he goes. We’re thrilled to have Suraj host Head In The Sky, offering our community something different while holding space for words, rhythm, and imagination.
The Venue:
Playground AfterDark creates a safe space for our community of like minded and curious folks, delivering the joy of plant-based wellness with meaningful shared experiences. We operate Wednesdays from 4:20pm within Plant Playground - a biophilically designed concept space in Perth, Western Australia.
